The Madison Lake City Council is looking for volunteers to serve on the City’s Boards & Commissions. Boards & Commissions include the Economic Development Authority, Planning and Zoning Commission and the Parks and Trails Committee (soon to be the Parks & Trails Commission). Most positions are three-year terms, though there are a few partial terms to be filled. High School Students are also eligible to serve for one year terms.
Planning Commission
One Opening
The Planning Commission is made up of seven members. Planning Commission is responsible for advising the City Council on land use, zoning and long term comprehensive planning for the City. The Planning Commission meets regularly on the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at City Hall with the possibility of special meetings on additional days depending on workload. Planning Commission members are compensated $25 a meeting.
Economic Development Authority (EDA)
Two Openings
The Economic Development Authority is made up of seven members and is responsible for advising the City Council on the encouragement and financial support of economic development and redevelopment in the City. The Economic Development Authority meets quarterly throughout the year with the possibility of additional special meetings depending on workload.
Parks & Trails Committee
One Opening
The Parks & Trails Committee is a working committee made up of five members. They are responsible for advising the City Council on planning and maintenance of the City’s parks and trails system. The Parks and Trails Committee meets as needed.
